Reflecting on this past year...

This blog post took me so long to write!!!! Maybe a month in the making and only a month late! But here is what went down in 2013!

I really can't believe that this year is over. Last year I was barely pregnant and looking forward to meeting my little one. She's now 6 months, where does time go?

Highlights and some lowlights of this past year:

In January of last year my grandpa passed away. So hard. I can't believe it will already be a year. I am so thankful that Taylor got to meet him, spend time with him and be the last one to take a picture with him, of that I am so thankful. I know things happen for a reason and here it goes. My hubby was going to a bachelorette party in one of the weekends in January. I was not happy. I am greedy and love spending time with my hubby because lord knows he works so hard. Anyway, I was not going to have him for a WHOLE weekend. A few weeks prior my grandpa had gotten ill from pneumonia so we were constantly in and out of the hospital with him. The weekend that my hubby was going to Vegas, my grandpa had gotten released and was staying at my parents house. That WHOLE weekend Taylor and I spent time with him, he was tired and would sometimes go into the bedroom, but we were there. Taylor loved him and constantly went to check on him. We didn't know that would be his last weekend alive but I thank the lord above for giving us that weekend with him, his last weekend. I am so thankful that Chase went on that trip to Vegas because I know we probably would have not spent the whole weekend with my Grandpa. I am so sad Kendall didn't get to meet him, he always told me that I was going to have a boy, I know he was surprised when he was looking down at us when we found out we were having ANOTHER girl. I miss him so.

MAY- My amazing Sister in Law and Mother in Law decided they would have a baby shower for us. From day 1 that we found out we were pregnant I did not want to find out what we were having, but as I got closer to the due date I started panicking a little! So my sis, Megan, convinced me to have the doctor write in a note what we were having, give it to her and she would plan the shower for us accordingly. The shower itself would be gender neutral but she would let the guest know what we were expecting so they would bring gifts suitable for the baby's sex. It would be a surprise for "us!" Awesome experience. When Chase and I got to the shower we couldn't tell by the decor but shortly after, they put a shirt on Taylor that said "I am going to have a baby sister." I cried. and cried. Not because I wanted a boy but because I knew Taylor and Kendall would have an amazing bond, a friend forever and a best friend. They are only 20 months apart but due to Taylor's and Kendall's birthdays they will only be a year apart in school. Loved being able to celebrate Kendall!

June- Kendall was born! The best birth ever! So chill and because I was induced and they started the epidural when I was at 3cm, I never really felt any strong contractions. It was a glorious birth and if i was gauranteed easy labors like Kendall, I would probably have 5 more kids! I was in labor for about 14 hours, not too shabby. The moment Kendall was born, I knew our family was complete. Taylor took the birth of her baby sister amazingly and I thank god that they love eachother so much!

July- 2 weeks after Kendall's birth we went on vacation. Crazy that my little one was only 2 weeks old but she was a trooper. Daddy took over Taylor and showed her an awesome time at the beach while I stayed back with Kendall. I can't wait for this years vacation to be able to enjoy it with both of my girls. July can't come soon enough!

August- I had to go back back to work for 3 days to meet my new 4th grade students. Missed my girls so much those 3 days, definitely did not want to go back for good at the end of September.

September- Taylor turned 2! Oh big sis turned a whole 2 years old, she loved her little itty birthday party. I made her cake out of fondant, first cake ever with fondant. She loved every single thing. She has now requested that she wants to go to Disneyland for her 3rd birthday to see Mickey and Princess.

November- My amazing older, middle sister got married. This was truly a beautiful wedding at an amazing resort. Her wedding was outdoors and the whole week prior it was raining not only in Yuma but also in Temecula, where her wedding was held. I kept telling her everything would turn out beautiful but then i knew if it was my wedding, i would be freaking out about the rain too. On Saturday morning, the day of her wedding, it was BEAUTIFUL! The sun was out, it wasn't cold or hot, just perfect. Perfect for my sisters dream wedding! It was such a fun night ;)

And those are the highlights and lowlights of 2013.

It took me forever to write. Getting back into the swing of work and adjusting our schedules from break and finishing orders up have kept me busy.

The first week of January, I came down with such a horrible flu. I felt like i was dying! At one point I was really considering going to the ER. Thankfully after 4 days of being bedridden, I started feeling like myself again. And my girls and hubby made it out ok, without getting sick, THANK GOD!

So back to finishing orders from my recent Groopdealz.

This weekend I will be working with Andrea Hauck from Andrea Hauck Photography on a Valentine's day photo shoot. I can't wait to see my little girls sporting my attire and being captured by such an amazing photographer!

I have so much going on in the next few months, so excited but really where does the time go?!?

What's your Christmas Tradition or Traditions?

Both my husband and I come from very close knit families therefore our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day is filled with tons of family and crazy fun gatherings. Now here it goes:

Christmas Eve is such a big day for us, most Hispanic families celebrate this day and Christmas Day is more chill. So we go to my family on Christmas Eve and eat lots of Tamales like my grandma used to make them and enjoy our time together! This is an all day event and usually begins around noon.

My husbands side of the family also has a big Christmas Eve gathering before the annual Christmas hayride (my favorite). Unfortunately, because we are with my family only for Christmas Eve and are with my hubby's family on Christmas Day we always usually miss Christmas Eve dinner at in laws. So in the evening around 6 ish we load up and drive across town for the hayride. The "hayride" is a flat bed trailer attached to a truck. I would say "we" but I think I have only helped a few times, they decorate the trailer with Christmas lights and straw bales and on Christmas Eve we drive around town on the trailer singing Christmas carols and looking at Christmas lights. It's such a wonderful thing to know that my girls will always grow up with this tradition! This lasts about a couple hours then we head back to my parents house!

We hang out at my parents house until midnight, because ever since I was young and again coming back to the Hispanic culture, we open our gifts at midnight. My girls only get a gift from us, if they stay up!

(Somewhere in between the hayride and parents house, I would like to start going to a Christmas Eve mass. Hoping we could make it this year!)

After that, we come home and wait until Christmas morning to open our gifts. Santa also delivers his Christmas present to the girls which come unwrapped.

Loved Taylor's reaction last year, CANNOT wait for this years reaction since she has really been in the Christmas spirit!

Christmas morning the girls will open all the gifts we have for them and might head on over to my in laws to take them their gifts.

Christmas Day we will also go to my husbands Aunt and uncle's house for Christmas dinner, the kids will open more gifts and the grown ups will have a Christmas basket exchange!

Oh what fun it is to have so much family and love during the holidays!

Now on to finish my girls headbands, last minute wrapping and some orders!

Don't forget :
These are on sale now for only $3.99 on Jane.com! Don't miss out!

PS. Are you looking for the perfect holiday drink? On Thursday I hosted Bunco at my casa and had an alcohol exchange. I was lucky number 12 which means that I could practically steal any one's alcohol unless it had already been stolen 3 times. To make this story short I ended with a bottle of
(Sorry for the blurry picture) RumChata! If you like the drink Horchata, you will absolutely love this! I have mixed this with Fireball and it's amazing. Even more amazing is this with Malibu Rum. Prepare to be addicted if you try it! You can find this bottle anywhere! We had to buy some more for the holidays and found it at Walmart!

Also, a new better deal is coming up on Groopdealz.com on the 29th! These will only be $5.99! So mark your calendars NOW! Don't forget to head on over to Groopdealz.com for thes awesome headbands!
